Announcing: A Direct Line to Better Telemedicine

About a year ago, before COVID-19 was even a glint on the world stage, we at Daily Care Telemedicine could see that skilled nursing facilities had a serious challenge.

As hospitalists and SNFists who have been providing care to skilled care facilities for the past seven years, we could see first-hand the challenges with access and staffing levels. Skilled nursing facilities needed someone to call, sometimes in the middle of the night, when a patient suddenly needed an evaluation, or a higher level of care than was available on-site. But more often than not, the solution was simply to transfer the patient to the local emergency department.

Sometimes an ER transfer is truly necessary, but often those transfers have simply been the only care option available. And when those unnecessary transfers happen, there are a variety of adverse consequences.

We thought we could help, and the result is a new offering: Daily Care Telemedicine. The goal is to provide the same quality patient care we’ve provided for the past seven years, combined with an enterprise telemedicine technology solution and a focus on service — a direct line, if you will, to better telemedicine.

We aim to serve a variety of practice environments, including critical access care hospitals, assisted living, and long-term acute care facilities, in addition to skilled nursing facilities. By providing telemedicine access to our hospitalists and SNFists, skilled care facilities can save on transfers, save on supplemental coverage, and ultimately avoid unnecessary moves back and forth for their patients.

Historically, providing this kind of around-the-clock oversight to skilled care facilities literally meant long hours of driving, sometimes across long stretches of rural America, in order to check in on patients and flag issues. But telemedicine technology has matured to the point where we can provide exactly the amount of coverage needed, without the inefficiency of a full-time physician traveling back and forth with many hours on the road.

And just in time — as COVID-19 continues to challenge our country and our healthcare system, having a direct line to telemedicine specialists on call can help protect the health of patients, nurses, and staff.

To learn more about Daily Care Telemedicine, and how we can help your facility, just give us a call. Our direct line is (920) 939-2423. We look forward to hearing from you!
